Svend C is owned by Sikuaq Trawl A/S.
Onboard Svend C is a complete Carsoe shrimp factory with separation of by catch, cooking and IQF freezing. The line also includes batching and packing in 5 kg. boxes.
Aside from the shrimp line the trawler also has a line for handling mackerel including a RSW system, batching and packing system.
With the installation of a double factory on board, both mackerel and shrimp can be processed efficiently onboard. The entire process is so automated that the handling of the fish is at an absolute minimum. This solution has been chosen to spare the employees and automate the process optimally.
Shrimp Processing
IQF, short for "Individually Quick Frozen," refers to a freezing method that efficiently freezes individual food pieces. This technique prevents seafood products from sticking together during the packaging process after freezing.
The size and capacity of IQF freezers can vary, allowing for customization based on specific requirements, whether a small or large freezer is needed.
This freezer is particularly effective for freezing batches of food items prone to clumping when frozen. By individually freezing and separating each food piece within the batch, IQF freezers offer significant advantages, especially when dealing with delicate seafood products like shellfish and shrimp.
One part of the factory is designed for automated and efficient processing of mackerel.
