Svend C adds a new Carsoe cod line to enable year-round production
Svend C, owned by Sikuaq Trawl A/S, is already equipped with a Carsoe shrimp factory and a pelagic (mackerel) handling line. With a new cod processing line now being installed, the factory deck is reengineered to support three species, which extends the vessel’s production season.
Recent quota developments have accelerated the shift toward cod, making a retrofit the fastest way to capture this opportunity and stabilize uptime across seasons.
Fast project execution through close collaboration
The project has moved quickly from decision to build. A 12‑week lead time from order to equipment delivery is made possible by close coordination between Carsoe engineering, production, and the Svend C team.

To prepare for an efficient installation, Carsoe technicians boarded Svend C in the Faroe Islands to begin selective dismantling and factory prep during transit, to optimize the installation phase.
Svend C will arrive at the shipyard by mid-april where additional Carsoe Installation Engineers will join on site to complete the cod line installation, integrate conveyors, and ramp up toward commissioning.
