Avataq - Shrimp and halibut trawler
Onboard Avataq is a complete Carsoe processing plant featuring automatic separation of bycatch, grading of shrimp by size and a continuous cooking line.
The shrimp are frozen in either IQF tunnel freezers or in automatically loaded and unloaded horizontal freezers. The frozen and packed shrimp are then set aside in a freezer hotel for later onboard palletizing
In 2020, Avataq made the biggest shrimp catch ever seen in Greenland. Usually, the catch is between 400-500 tons on each trip. However, on a three-week trip back in 2020, they made a 903-tons shrimp catch onboard Avataq.
