Carsoe Secures the Contract for Two Complete Shrimp Trawlers
Polar Seafood and Qajaq Trawl from Greenland has chosen Carsoe as a supplier of all process equipment for their two new state of the art fishing trawlers, which will be built at Freire shipyard in Vigo, Spain.
The trawlers will be ready at the end of 2018 and beginning of 2019.
All-time Largest Order
Since the acquisition of Carnitech’s seafood activities, Carsoe has had great success within this segment. However, this order beats all records with an overall order amount exceeding 90 mil DKK.
In cooperation with DSI and Holmek, Carsoe will supply all on-board production equipment incl. horizontal automatic freezers, warehouse facilities, palletizing equipment as well as elevators.
This is Carsoe’s fourth order within 12 months for equipping a new built trawler, which confirms Carsoe’s leading position on the market.
“This is the result of many employee’s excellent work and competences that have been built up over years”, says managing director Mikkel Jacobsen.
A Wellknown Customer
The Carsoe team has delivered several production systems to Polar Seafood and Qajaq Trawl throughout the last 20 years. Both new trawlers is set to operate in Greenland waters primarily meant to fish cold-water shrimps. However, the concept of the design is to deliver a flexible solution making it possible to adjust the trawler to other fishery types.
